Sustainable Ocean Plan

As a member of the High-Level Panel for a Sustainable Ocean Economy, Australia committed to managing 100% of our ocean sustainably, through a sustainable ocean plan.  Australia’s first national sustainable ocean plan is being finalised following extensive nation-wide engagement with all jurisdictions and across multiple sectors and stakeholders.  This presentation will include an update on progress in finalising the plan and the outcomes and priorities that will guide implementation.

Biography:

Katrina is the Head of the International Environment, Reef and Ocean Division in the Australian Government Department of Climate Change, Energy, Environment and Water. Her division leads engagement on international multilateral and regional environment agreements and partnerships, policy for the Great Barrier Reef and Australia’s ocean, and wildlife trade regulation. Katrina has worked in the Australian government for three decades on policy, regulation, negotiations, communications and engagement in areas including Climate Change, Energy, Water and Fisheries Management. Katrina has a Bachelor of Arts degree and Masters in Environmental Law.
