Renee is the Director of Strategic Initiatives in Universities Australia, the peak body for the higher education sector. She is the policy lead on the sector-wide Respect. Now. Always. Initiative that aims to address sexual assault and sexual harassment in universities. Prior to her role in UA, she worked in gender equality policy and research for the Commonwealth Government, including the National Plan to Reduce Violence against Women and Their Children 2010–2022. Renee’s academic and professional background is in psychology, specifically women’s mental health, and she has worked in the community and government sectors supporting victims of family violence and sexual assault.
