It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2025 Forum for Operational Oceanography (FOO). This forum continues our tradition of bringing together experts, innovators, and practitioners to discuss advancements and challenges in operational oceanography.

Building upon the success of previous forums, such as the 2023 FOO also held at the Esplanade Hotel Fremantle, we aim to delve deeper into topics that are pivotal to our field. The 2023 forum featured insightful sessions on innovations to understand climate risk, evolution of wave and current data, and their applications in operational oceanography.

About FOO

The goal of the Australian Forum for Operational Oceanography (FOO) is to promote the safety and efficiency of marine industries and enable better decision-making through operational oceanography.

The forum provides opportunities to:

• communicate user needs and priorities from sectors and jurisdictions who have an interest in operational oceanography
• strengthen links with the diverse community of intermediate service provides (metocean consultants, environmental consultants)
• agree and achieve international best practice across the sectors
• initiate the interactions and partnerships between groups in Australia that are essential to improve both exploitation of capabilities in operational oceanography and transitioning of systems research to operations

Payments can be made securely with a credit card or by EFT within 7 days of registering. All prices are quoted in Australian Dollars (AUD$) and include GST, unless otherwise stated.

Confirmation and Tax Invoice

You will be sent a confirmation email with a PDF Tax Invoice when you complete a booking. Please check your email is entered correctly on the booking form and check your junk mail folder.
