Invitation to attend
The Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture (TIA), University of Tasmania, is pleased to invite researchers, industry partners, and practitioners to participate in the 1st China–Australia Symposium on Crop Stress & Climate Adaptation, to be held 10–15 March 2026 in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia.
As climate extremes intensify, unlocking crop resilience is mission-critical. This inaugural binational symposium will bring together plant physiologists, geneticists, pathologists, agronomists, modellers, and industry stakeholders to accelerate solutions from laboratory to field. The program will showcase cutting-edge research and practical advances in crop stress tolerance, including physiology, phenomics, and modelling, while fostering dialogue on future directions and bilateral collaboration.
The symposium will also explore opportunities for joint research initiatives and education programs between China and Australia. Participants will have the opportunity to take part in field visits to two Tasmanian farms, providing first-hand insight into management practices supporting climate adaptation in agricultural systems.
We warmly welcome delegates to join us in Tasmania for this important forum and to contribute to building enduring China–Australia partnerships in crop stress physiology and climate adaptation.
Looking forward to seeing you in Launceston in March 2026.
Warm regards,
Professor Meixue Zhou – Conference Convenor
Dr Ke Liu – Conference Secretariat
Dr Chenchen Zhao – Conference Secretariat
