Part Time Member, Mental Health Review Tribunal

Vanessa is currently working as a part time member of the Mental Health Review Tribunal having commenced working with the Tribunal in 2016.   Vanessa sits regularly on panels in both the civil and forensic divisions drawing on her extensive clinical experience in these areas of practice.

Having been introduced to mental health as a student, Vanessa developed an ongoing interest in this area.  Finishing studies in 1993, Vanessa has over 25 years clinical experience as a social worker in multidisciplinary teams providing social work input to the acute care and rehabilitation needs of both civil and forensic consumers from around New South Wales.

During her time as a social worker, Vanessa has also undertaken leadership and management roles within the frontline provision of services.  This combination of direct clinical and leadership roles has helped inform her practice as part of the multidisciplinary panels that conduct hearings with the Mental Health Review Tribunal.
