The Hon Justice Kristina Stern

The Hon. Justice Stern was sworn in as a Judge of the NSW Supreme Court and a Judge of Appeal of the NSW Court of Appeal on 8 June 2023. Her Honour commenced practice as a solicitor in Victoria, before moving to England where she completed a PhD at Cambridge University. Her Honour lectured in law at King’s College London then practised as a barrister in London for ten years with a broad-based practice that included human rights and general public law, common law, disciplinary and commercial cases. In 2006, Justice Stern moved to the Sydney Bar, taking silk in 2011. Whilst at the bar her Honour maintained a wide practice and appeared in a variety of jurisdictions. She has also written and presented extensively in the fields of public and commercial law and human rights.
