Dr Fabrizio D’Esposito is the Head of Region for Western Pacific at the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB). Fabrizio is a public health specialist with over 15 years’ experience in policy, advocacy, program design, monitoring and evaluation, and research. He has led public health initiatives and research projects across Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and the Pacific, including during his time with the World Health Organization’s Regional Office for the Western Pacific (WPRO). Fabrizio has worked with governments, multilateral organisations, not-for-profits, academia, and the private sector, focusing on community-based interventions for noncommunicable conditions – including eye health, diabetes, mental health, and cancer – as well as neglected tropical diseases. He is passionate about universal health coverage and improving outcomes for underserved population groups. Fabrizio holds a Doctorate from the University of Sydney, a Master of Public Health from the University of Melbourne, and is a Graduate of the Vincent Fairfax Ethical Leadership Program.
