Dr Amanda-Jane George

Dr George is a Senior Lecturer in Law at CQUniversity, Australia. Her research expertise includes innovation and policy development, and she has a particular passion for research and advocacy regarding gender-based violence. Dr George was Chief Investigator on a significant integrative literature review, Specialist Approaches to Managing Sexual Assault Proceedings, which was commissioned by the Australasian Institute of Judicial Administration and the Commonwealth Attorney-General’s Department. This review has attracted attention from state and territory government departments, national media and international law associations. The review will inform the Australian Law Reform Commission’s inquiry into justice responses to sexual violence, and Dr George has been appointed to the ALRC’s Lived Experience Expert Advisory Group. 

Dr George’s publications have been cited by the Australian High Court, Parliamentary Committees and government departments. She is admitted to the High Court of Australia, the Queensland Supreme Court, and is a serving committee member of the Queensland Law Society.
