Acting Superintendent Matthew York is a Security Coordinator for the NSW Sheriff’s Office, he is from the Security, Intelligence and Risk Command and has the Security Area Of Responsibility of the Sydney Metro Command. As the security Coordinator he works along side the Regional Commander to facilitate the day-to-day security operations of the NSW Courts.
Prior to acting in this role Matthew was the Senior Operational Trainer for the NSW Sheriff’s Office, working in the Operational Training Unit, who deliver all Weapons and Tactics training to the new Sheriff recruits who are conducting their training at the NSW Sheriff and Justice Academy, located at Parramatta.
Previously Matthew served as a Military Police Officer in the Australian Army, deploying both domestically and abroad during his service. Matthew spent time as a Station OIC, in intelligence and within detention centres in both Australia and overseas.
In his current role, Matthew deals with information, intelligence, and training in the area of Sovereign Citizens.
