Matthew Levy is a Senior Solicitor within the Appeals and Complex Litigation Unit (Family Law Division) at Legal Aid NSW. Prior to joining Legal Aid, Matthew developed a focus on children’s matters at the NSW Crown Solicitor’s Office, where he acted on behalf of the Department of Communities and Justice in parens patriae proceedings, care and protection appeals and family law interventions. That focus has continued in his current role, where he represents young people in Supreme Court secure care and medical treatment matters, acts as the Independent Children’s Lawyer in family law proceedings, and appears as the separate representative for young people who are the subject of proceedings before the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
